Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is scheduled to visit Dhaka on August 30 for a two-day official trip, marking the first visit by a European head of government during Bangladesh’s interim administration. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, migration will be a key issue during the discussions. Meloni will meet with the Chief Advisor and discuss bilateral cooperation, trade, and defense relations. In May, Italy’s Interior Minister visited Dhaka and signed a "Migration and Mobility" agreement. The last Italian prime minister to visit Bangladesh was Romano Prodi in 1998.
