A devastating fire broke out late Friday night at the home of expatriate Jubo Dal leader Abdul Khalek in Bhavbhadri village of Alaiyarpur, Begumganj, Noakhali. According to local reports, unidentified individuals allegedly set the house ablaze over previous enmity while the family was away visiting relatives. The entire house was reduced to ashes, leaving Khalek’s wife and three children living under the open sky.

Local representatives and political leaders visited the site following the incident. Alaiyarpur Union Parishad Chairman Gias Uddin Patwari and Ward Member Kamrul Hasan Komol urged authorities to ensure exemplary punishment for those responsible and called on affluent individuals to assist the affected family. Leaders from BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami also pledged support for Khalek’s family. Police confirmed that an investigation has begun and legal action will follow upon receiving a written complaint.

The fire destroyed all household belongings, including furniture and appliances, leaving the family destitute. Local officials and community members appealed for administrative and humanitarian assistance to help them rebuild their lives.
