Pakistan’s Army Chief Asim Munir arrived in Tehran on Friday to attend the funeral of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, according to Al Jazeera. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also departed from Islamabad for a one-day visit to Iran to participate in the funeral rites.

The formal funeral proceedings for Khamenei are scheduled to begin in Tehran on July 4, followed by mourning ceremonies in Qom and Iraq. The burial is planned for July 9 in Mashhad, his birthplace.
