The Directorate of Primary Education has issued urgent instructions on transfer procedures for teachers working in government primary schools. In a directive published on August 3, 2026, it said four tiers of committees have been formed to review transfer-related activities. Applications are to be handled according to the jurisdiction of committees at the upazila, district, divisional and national levels.

The directorate said applications that can be resolved by other committees are also being submitted directly to the national committee. It noted complaints that member secretaries of upazila, district and divisional committees were not accepting applications, forcing teachers to submit them to the national committee. The directive described this situation as undesirable.

It said direct submissions to the national committee without using the proper authority are disrupting discipline in government work. Committees were instructed to accept applications within their jurisdictions and complete the necessary procedures. Applications falling under the national committee’s jurisdiction must also be filed through the appropriate authority; otherwise, no action will be taken on them. The directorate labelled the matter highly urgent and ordered necessary measures.
