Opposition Leader and Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has called on the government to ensure justice within 15 days for the brutal killing of four-year-old Fahima Akter in Sylhet. He made the appeal while visiting the victim’s family, who lost their daughter in a widely discussed case involving abduction, attempted rape, and murder. During the visit, he expressed deep sympathy to the grieving parents and assured them of his support for fair justice.

Dr. Rahman stated that repeated incidents like this occur due to impunity and delayed trials. He emphasized that the gruesome killing of Fahima has deeply pained the entire nation and urged people from all levels of society to unite and remain vigilant to prevent such tragedies in the future. Family members shared their grief and details of the incident with him, and he listened attentively.

Several senior Jamaat leaders accompanied Dr. Rahman during the visit, including Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair, Muhammad Fakhrul Islam, and Maulana Habibur Rahman. Later, the opposition leader spoke to journalists at a press briefing.
