Former interim government adviser Professor Dr. Asif Nazrul has publicly denied all allegations of corruption during his tenure, asserting that he neither engaged in nor allowed any form of corruption. In a Facebook post titled 'Asif Nazrul’s Corruption?' published on Wednesday, he stated that he did not open new bank accounts, acquire new assets, or conceal any property in tax filings.
Nazrul addressed earlier online rumors claiming he had purchased a house in the United States and relocated his family there. He said he had challenged journalists and investigators to produce evidence of such property, but none had been found in eight months. He emphasized that he owns no property outside Bangladesh and dismissed the allegations as baseless fabrications spread by unreliable media outlets.
He further clarified that he did not engage in nepotism or regional favoritism while in office, citing examples of transparent recruitment and limited official support for institutional projects. Nazrul concluded that he remains confident false accusations will not harm him, expressing faith in divine justice.
