Jonaid Saki, leader of the Gonoshonghoti Andolon (People’s Solidarity Movement), condemned the government’s failure to curb ‘mob terrorism,’ stating it is unacceptable to evade responsibility through official statements alone. He highlighted recent attacks on minority religious communities, shrines, political opponents, and various individuals, despite the relatively small size of some of these groups.
Saki criticized law enforcement agencies for their ineffectiveness and passivity, even after 10 months since the coup attempt. He assured that perpetrators will be brought to justice through proper legal channels. Ahead of the first anniversary of the July-August coup attempt, Saki announced a month-long series of activities to commemorate the event.
