Twenty-one judges who recently received permanent appointments to the High Court Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh took their oaths at the Judges’ Lounge on Sunday. Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed administered the oath, with Registrar General Muhammad Habibur Rahman Siddiqui conducting the ceremony. The event was attended by justices from both divisions of the Supreme Court, Attorney General Mohammad Asaduzzaman, Supreme Court Bar Association President A.M. Mahbub Uddin Khokon, and family members of the newly appointed judges. The appointments were made under Article 95 of the Constitution, following consultation with the Chief Justice, and formalized by a presidential order issued earlier in the week. Among the 22 judges granted permanent status, one, Justice Syed Enayet Hossain, could not attend the ceremony due to illness and will take the oath later.
