The National Citizen Party (NCP) held a march and post-march rally in Azmiriganj, Habiganj, on Tuesday under its announced programme. Speaking as chief guest at the Central Shaheed Minar, NCP chief coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary said the party would continue to love the people until it received their love. He said NCP leaders and activists would go door to door and visit every union to hear residents’ problems and work toward solutions.

Patwary called on people to unite against occupiers amid the current political situation. Addressing the BNP, he said it should learn from its past popularity and organisational discipline and play a responsible role. He criticised the standard of public services, saying necessary treatment was not being ensured at Azmiriganj উপজেলা Health Complex, while alleging irregularities and corruption in government institutions. He said Azmiriganj remained deprived of desired development.

NCP chief organiser Sarjis Alam alleged power disruptions at locations hosting the party’s programmes, including Azmiriganj, and urged party activists to remain accountable to the public. Hundreds of activists joined the 11am march from different unions before the noon rally. Leaders later sought public support for Azmiriganj NCP convenor Kamal Ahmed as the party’s candidate in the upcoming উপজেলা Parishad election.
