Dr. Kamda Prasad Saha, former head of the forensic department at Comilla Medical College, has publicly defended his role in the second autopsy of Sohagi Jahan Tanu, a student of Comilla Victoria Government College whose murder case resurfaced after a suspect was arrested ten years later. Facing intense criticism and threats on social media, Dr. Saha posted a detailed explanation on Facebook on Monday evening, clarifying his involvement and the technical limitations of the second autopsy.

He stated that the first autopsy was conducted by another doctor, and he only led the second examination under court order as part of a three-member expert board. The body was decomposed when exhumed 10–15 days after burial, preventing a clear determination of the cause of death. However, DNA tests found sperm from three men, which was noted in the report. Dr. Saha emphasized that the report never suggested consensual sexual activity and that the findings were scientifically valid.

He expressed concern over personal attacks and misinformation online, asserting that all his actions were legally documented and that he supports a fair investigation to identify and punish the real perpetrators.
