Palestinian-American homeowner Luay Abu Ridi said he feared for his safety as he returned to one of three homes under a settler blockade in Qusra, near Nablus in the occupied West Bank. Speaking on Monday after landing at Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv, he appealed to US officials and the embassy for protection. His brother later said Abu Ridi ultimately reached his home with journalists.

Settlers began blockading the homes more than a week earlier, trapping residents inside and effectively cutting off essential supplies from outside, according to the report. Abu Ridi's brother Qusai remained inside and shared information about conditions. Videos he provided to AFP showed Israeli forces outside the home while settlers passed nearby on quad bikes.

Abu Ridi said he could not allow settlers to take over his home and was uncertain whether he would be allowed to enter and leave it freely. He expressed frustration at the Israeli military's inability to remove settlers from the site and called for concrete action. US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee condemned what he called horrific terrorist acts intended to intimidate and harass the family.
