Kazi Raisul Islam Selim, Chairman of Moukaron Union Parishad in Patuakhali, has been accused of embezzling nearly 3 million BDT by not executing 16 development projects. Abul Kalam Azad, President of Moukaron Union BNP, filed a written complaint with the District Commissioner on March 9, alleging that he was listed as a project chairman without his knowledge. Selim allegedly used his close ties with former minister Asaduzzaman Kamal to facilitate corruption.
