Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has emphasized that politics must be driven by a commitment to public welfare, not personal enrichment. Speaking at a rally in Rangpur, he said those with a mindset of begging, looting, or corruption should have no place in politics. He stressed that political leadership should act as the guardian of people's wealth, dignity, and lives. He also pledged that if Jamaat were to form a government, its leaders would refuse government plots and tax-exempt cars. “There cannot be two sets of laws in one country,” he added, signaling a stand against legal double standards.
