BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam has declared that no elections will take place before the national polls. He made this statement after a meeting with the Chief Adviser on Monday. Earlier in the day, Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan mentioned that while no final decision had been made on local government elections before the national polls, a policy decision had been taken. When asked about the election roadmap, the BNP leader said it was the government's responsibility and suggested that it might be announced by the 15th. He also emphasized that innocent people should not fall victim to "Operation Devil Hunt."
