Police in Manikganj’s Harirampur upazila arrested two local leaders affiliated with the BNP’s student and youth wings for allegedly selling yaba tablets. The detainees were identified as Rafiqul Islam, office secretary of the Nabagram Upazila Chhatra Dal, and Alomgir Hossain, joint general secretary of the Shikari Para Union Jubo Dal. Acting on a tip-off, police detained them in the Nayarhat area and recovered 15 yaba tablets from their possession. Following their arrest, they were presented before a Manikganj court, which denied their bail and ordered them to be sent to jail. Police confirmed that a case has been filed against both under the Narcotics Control Act. The arrests highlight ongoing law enforcement efforts against drug trafficking in the region.
