BNP candidate and the party’s National Executive Committee Assistant Secretary for Climate Change Affairs, Mostafizur Rahman Babul, has secured an overwhelming victory in the Jamalpur-3 (Madaripur-Melandah) constituency during the 13th National Parliamentary Election. The unofficial results were announced on Thursday night, February 12, 2026, at the conference room of the Jamalpur Deputy Commissioner’s office by District Commissioner and Returning Officer Mohammad Yusuf Ali.

According to the declared results, Mostafizur Rahman Babul, contesting under the ‘sheaf of paddy’ symbol, received 207,412 votes, while his nearest rival, Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Maulana Mujibur Rahman Azadi, obtained 81,430 votes under the ‘balance scale’ symbol. This gives Babul a victory margin of 125,982 votes. The constituency had a total of 539,504 registered voters, and nine candidates contested in this election.

Officials emphasized that the announced results are unofficial, with the formal declaration expected to follow later.
