A violent clash erupted late Saturday night between students of Chittagong University and local residents, leaving more than 50 people injured, including teachers and students. The conflict began around 11:30 p.m. when a female philosophy student argued with a building caretaker over entering her rented accommodation near the university’s Gate No. 2. Tensions quickly escalated, leading to stone-throwing, armed confrontations, and running battles between the two sides. The army was deployed around 3 a.m. to restore order. The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals.
