The event was inaugurated by District Fisheries Officer Mohammad Iqbal Hossain and chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Rumana Afroze.

Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Jayanta Kumar Apu stated that 1,000 fishermen received 12 kg flour, 8 kg lentils, 4 kg sugar, 4 kg salt, 16 kg potatoes, and 10 liters of oil, with another 1,000 fishermen scheduled to receive aid the following day. Speakers at the event emphasized the importance of protecting Hilsa resources and adhering to fishing bans to ensure sustainable production. They said the government’s humanitarian support aims to ease the hardship of fishermen during the ban period.
