Bangladesh has strongly condemned Israel’s new law aimed at annexing occupied Palestinian territories. Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman made the statement while addressing the open executive committee meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) at the ministerial level in Jeddah. The condemnation was detailed in a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday, February 27, 2026.

The minister said the law seeks to alter the legal and demographic character of Palestinian lands, including Al-Quds Al-Sharif, and expressed deep concern that measures such as easing land purchases and opening land registration in the West Bank expose Palestinian landowners to intimidation and harassment. He reaffirmed that establishing an independent and sovereign State of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the 1967 borders, is the only sustainable solution to the ongoing crisis.

He also called for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, unrestricted access for humanitarian workers, and urgent aid delivery to affected civilians. On the sidelines, the minister held bilateral meetings with counterparts from Pakistan, Gambia, Palestine, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia, who congratulated Bangladesh on its recent national election and expressed interest in closer cooperation.
