BNP-nominated candidate and former state minister for home affairs Lutfozzaman Babar has won the Netrakona-4 (Madan-Mohanganj-Khaliajuri) constituency by a wide margin, according to unofficial results announced on Thursday evening. The report from Amar Desh Online stated that Babar secured 160,351 votes, defeating his nearest rival by 121,042 votes.

His closest competitor, Al Helal Talukdar, the Jamaat-e-Islami candidate with the scale symbol, received 39,309 votes. The results indicate a decisive victory for the BNP candidate in this constituency.

The report also mentioned other election outcomes, including BNP’s Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas winning in Pabna-5, BNP taking three of four seats in Patuakhali, and Jamaat winning one. In Meherpur-1, a thanksgiving prayer was held following victory, while Jamaat’s Abdul Wareth won in Gaibandha-5.
