A fire broke out on Friday night at a storage area near Gate 9 of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka. The incident occurred in a security-sensitive zone, prompting an immediate response from airport authorities and the Fire Service. Thanks to their swift action, the blaze was contained before it could spread further. Fire Service officials said they received the alert at 11:24 p.m. and reached the site within three minutes. The fire was brought under control by 11:38 p.m. through the coordinated efforts of four units.

Preliminary reports indicate that the fire originated in a storage facility used for keeping goods near Gate 9. The cause of the fire and the extent of damage have not yet been confirmed. No injuries or casualties were reported, and airport operations, including flight schedules, remained unaffected. Security personnel cordoned off the area and evacuated nearby individuals as a precaution.

Officials stated that an investigation will be conducted to determine the source and cause of the fire and to assess whether negligence was involved. Authorities are also reviewing fire safety measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
