BNP leader Salahuddin Ahmed criticized the National Consensus Commission, alleging it focuses more on lavish meals than meaningful discussions. Despite his criticism, he expressed optimism, saying, "BNP believes that a final consensus will be reached."

He noted that the seeds of the previous regime’s downfall were sown by BNP's mass movement. Salahuddin added that BNP agrees with the proposal limiting any individual from serving more than 10 years as Prime Minister, a step he believes counters fascism. He also stressed the importance of judicial independence and press freedom as pillars of democracy.
