Development adviser Farida Akhter has called for a more humane approach to food consumption, urging middle-class consumers to not only seek good fish at markets but also to consider the wellbeing of the people behind the production.
“The government is working to boost fisheries production, especially because the middle class wants quality fish,” she said during a visit to Ishwardi Fish Seed Production Farm. She praised the efforts of the workers there, who meet their production targets each year despite challenging conditions. Plans for further development are underway, she confirmed.
