Jorarganj police arrested two people, including a joint convener of Hinguli Union Jubo Dal, during a special operation in Mirsarai, Chattogram. Police said they seized a foreign semi-automatic pistol, ammunition, locally made weapons and Indian Scop syrup. The operation was conducted late Saturday night in the Purba Hinguli area of Hinguli Union, and the two were sent to a Chattogram court on Sunday.

The detainees were identified as Borhan Uddin, 34, a resident of Purba Hinguli village and joint convener of Hinguli Union Jubo Dal, and Rahim Ullah Roni, 35, from Sarkar Taluk village in Karerhat Union. Acting on secret information, police conducted the operation in the Kadamtala area of Purba Hinguli and detained them.

Police said Borhan was carrying a 7.62mm foreign semi-automatic pistol, a magazine, nine live rounds, two knives, a folding switch gear and a bottle of Indian Scop syrup. Indian Scop syrup was also recovered from Roni, according to police. Authorities said each accused has nine pending cases at different police stations. Legal action was initiated over the recovered weapons, ammunition and drugs.
