BNP candidate Khandaker Abu Ashfaq has been unofficially declared the winner of the Dhaka-1 (Dohar-Nawabganj) constituency in Bangladesh’s 13th National Parliamentary Election. According to results announced by assistant returning officers on Thursday night, February 12, 2026, Ashfaq received 172,402 votes, defeating his nearest rival, Barrister Nazrul Islam of the Jamaat-e-Islami, who secured 108,909 votes. The results from all 184 polling centers confirmed Ashfaq’s victory by a margin of 63,493 votes.

The Dhaka-1 constituency comprises two upazilas with a total of 536,617 registered voters and 8,518 postal ballots. Following the announcement, Barrister Nazrul Islam congratulated Ashfaq, acknowledging the people’s verdict and expressing hope that the newly elected member of parliament would work for the overall development of the area regardless of political affiliation. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining mutual respect for democratic continuity and political tolerance.

The official confirmation of the results is expected to follow the Election Commission’s final announcement.
