Adviser Muhammad Fauzul Kabir Khan has called for urgent measures to cut Bangladesh’s road construction costs, which he said are disproportionately higher than neighboring countries. “Roads have become a hub of corruption,” he stated, suggesting that reducing graft and ensuring accountability among engineers could slash costs by 20–30 percent. He emphasized reducing dependency on roads by expanding rail, river, and air transport networks. He also called for bypass routes around Dhaka to ease congestion and for adopting new technology to prevent roads from deteriorating yearly. During an inauguration event, he objected to his name being engraved on a plaque, saying: “Is this done with my father’s money? Why my name?”
