In a national address, Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus stated, "The July mass uprising has given us a unique opportunity to build a Bangladesh free from inequality, and we intend to seize it." He also commemorated March 25 as a dark day in human history, recalling how the Pakistani military initiated a genocide. Honoring the martyrs and freedom fighters of the nine-month-long Liberation War, he paid his respects. Highlighting government measures to control commodity prices during Ramadan, he said, "Since assuming office, we have taken strong actions to curb inflation. We are making every effort to ensure that no price hikes occur during Ramadan and that electricity supply remains uninterrupted. These efforts will continue." Yunus also accused Sheikh Hasina of surpassing all limits of cruelty to cling to power. "The UN report has sent shivers down everyone's spine. How can a prime minister order the killing of unarmed civilians and the concealment of their bodies?" he questioned, while also discussing the UN Secretary-General’s visit.
