Nurul Haque Nur has warned against politicizing the July people's uprising, likening it to how the Awami League monopolized the 1971 Liberation War for political gain. He asserted that the July uprising belongs to the people—not to any political party or individual. “It is the result of the struggles of ordinary citizens from all walks of life,” he said. Nur emphasized that the movement’s goal is to bring down fascism and build a new Bangladesh—where elected representatives truly represent the people and are not selected through manipulated, rigged elections.
