Dr. Md. Jalal Uddin, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) candidate, has been unofficially declared the winner in the Chandpur-2 constituency, covering Matlab North and Matlab South. According to the report published on February 13, 2026, he received 170,583 votes under the paddy sheaf symbol. His nearest rival, Billal Hossain Miaji of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), nominated by the Jamaat-e-Islami-led 11-party alliance, secured 54,733 votes. Dr. Jalal Uddin won by a margin of 115,850 votes.
The Chandpur-2 constituency has a total of 492,377 registered voters, of whom 245,720 cast their ballots, resulting in a voter turnout of 49.90 percent. The report identifies the result as unofficial, pending formal confirmation by the election authorities.
