Police in Bholahat upazila of Chapainawabganj seized an oil-laden vehicle, trolley, and drums during a midnight operation against fuel smuggling. Acting on a tip-off, officers raided the Hero Brick Kiln area in Sonajal Beel around 12:30 a.m. on Monday night. According to police sources, the vehicle had entered the kiln premises from a nearby filling station, where fuel was being unloaded into drums and prepared for transport by trolley. When police arrived, the smugglers fled, leaving behind the vehicles.

Law enforcement recovered eight vehicles, including the oil carrier, trolleys, and locally made engines, and took them to the police station. Abdul Latif, owner of Messrs Bholahat Filling Station, denied involvement, claiming the seized oil did not belong to his station and that his station had a separate allocation from Jamuna Oil Company Limited for the same date. Additional Superintendent of Police (Gomstapur Circle) Md Hasan Tarek confirmed the seizure and said the source of the oil was still under investigation.

Authorities stated that further investigation is underway to identify the origin of the seized fuel and those responsible for the smuggling attempt.
