Ten militants were killed in a security operation by Pakistani forces in the Shor Parod area of Khuzdar district in Balochistan, according to a report published on August 16, 2026. Several others were injured during the operation, the report said, citing security sources through Dawn.

The sources said the militants were positioned in three separate groups. Security forces surrounded their hideouts and exchanged intense fire with them. Forces then conducted extensive searches in surrounding areas, while operations continued to capture militants who had fled.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised security personnel for what he described as a successful operation. He said the entire nation stood with the security forces in the fight against terrorism and that the government remained determined to eliminate terrorism from the country. Earlier, nine people were injured in an attack on the convoy of Balochistan Interior Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove. In Surab district, eight militants were killed in an explosion while preparing explosives, followed by another operation in which 10 more were killed.
