Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested 460 people during separate operations across the capital over the past 24 hours, according to information published on July 27, 2026. Police said the operations recovered a large quantity of narcotics and various tools linked to snatching. Authorities filed 25 cases at police stations across Dhaka in connection with the incidents.

DMP said the activity was part of routine law-and-order enforcement and anti-drug operations. Mirpur Division recorded the highest number of arrests, with 99. Motijheel arrested 79 people, while Tejgaon and Uttara each arrested 61. Wari detained 50, Gulshan 45, Ramna 32, Lalbagh 29, and the Detective Branch arrested four people.

Items seized from those arrested included 2 kilograms and 280 grams of cannabis, 10,127 yaba tablets, one motorcycle, nine mobile phones, three knives and one pair of scissors. Police also rescued one victim during the operations. DMP said legal action against the detainees is being processed at the relevant police stations and that the special operations will continue to curb crime and control drugs.
