The government is moving forward with the implementation of promises made before the election, said Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, BNP Secretary General and Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives. He made the remarks on Friday, February 27, at an iftar gathering organized by the NGO ESDO in Thakurgaon. Fakhrul emphasized the need for national unity and collective effort in nation-building.
During his speech, the minister expressed gratitude to his supporters and announced that work on a medical college and a university in Thakurgaon would begin soon. He also mentioned ongoing initiatives to operationalize an export processing zone and an airport, along with the waiver of agricultural loans of Tk 10,000 with interest for farmers. He called for divine strength to build a welfare-oriented state inspired by the spirit of 1952, 1971, and 2024.
State Minister for Water Resources Farhad Hossain Azad, ESDO Executive Director Dr. Shahiduzzaman, and others were present at the event.
