The 2026 Junior Scholarship Examination will begin on December 8 and conclude on December 15, according to a schedule released Sunday by the Dhaka Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. Bengali will be examined on December 8, English on December 10, mathematics on December 13, and science alongside Bangladesh and World Identity on December 15.

The revised timetable moves the examination forward from the education ministry’s previously published academic calendar, which had scheduled tests from December 15 to 20. That calendar had indicated December 30 as the possible result publication date. Under the new plan, candidates will sit examinations worth a total of 400 marks, which will determine merit and general scholarships.

Bengali, English and mathematics will each carry 100 marks and have three hours allotted. Science and Bangladesh and World Identity will carry 50 marks each, with 90 minutes for each subject. Candidates must enter examination rooms 30 minutes early, collect admit cards at least seven days beforehand, correctly complete OMR details, avoid folding answer scripts, and may use approved scientific calculators. Mobile phones and other electronic devices are barred except for centre secretaries.
