Major General Amir Hatami has been appointed the new Commander-in-Chief of Iran’s army by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Hatami previously served as Iran’s Defense Minister from 2013 to 2021. In a statement, Khamenei expressed gratitude to outgoing commander Major General Seyyed Abdolrahim Mousavi for his dedication and service.
