BNP central organizing secretary Alhaj GK Gaus has been declared the unofficial winner in the Habiganj-3 constituency, which includes Sadar, Lakhai, and Shayestaganj upazilas. According to results from all 137 polling centers, announced around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, Gaus received 141,522 votes. His nearest rival, Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Kazi Mohsin Ahmed, secured 44,581 votes. The information was confirmed by Gaus’s chief election agent, Haji Enamul Haque.
The Habiganj-3 result adds to a series of constituency outcomes reported the same night, including victories for other party candidates in Dhaka-4 and Dhaka-6. The report also mentioned that Jamaat leaders warned of strong movements against alleged conspiracies surrounding vote results.
The unofficial declaration positions GK Gaus as the likely winner pending formal confirmation by the election authorities.
