Jatiya Chhatra Shakti's Jagannath University unit held a protest march and rally at the university's main gate on August 5, demanding six measures including the permanent expulsion of those involved in clashes between Chhatra Dal and other student groups. The organisation alleged that Chhatra Dal attacked its members with encouragement from the university administration. Demonstrators carried banners and chanted slogans during the programme.

Unit president Shahin Mia said more than 60 students and activists from different organisations were injured in the previous day's attack, including general secretary Ferdous Sheikh, organiser Jabir Khan, and JAKSU GS-AGS members. He said students had sought to raise demands, including a second campus, before the UGC chairman at an administration-organised event on the July uprising, but were obstructed by the administration.

General secretary Ferdous Sheikh alleged that both the administration and Chhatra Dal were involved. The six demands include identifying and permanently expelling attackers, building temporary accommodation within seven acres, handing second-campus construction to the army, banning dishonest student politics, ensuring student safety, and reopening campus and academic activities from the following day.
