Police recovered the body of an unidentified man from the Shrimoti canal in Bhati Khain Union of Patiya upazila, Chattogram, on Tuesday, June 2. The body was found floating behind the Thegrapuni temple in the Tekarpara area of Ward No. 1. Locals first noticed the body in the canal and informed Patiya police, who arrived promptly and retrieved it.

Initial police assessment suggests the man may have been killed elsewhere and his body dumped into the canal, later drifting to the recovery site with the tide. The identity of the deceased remains unknown. Patiya Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Ziaul Haque stated that efforts are underway to identify the victim and determine the cause of death. If the body remains unidentified, it will be buried as unclaimed following legal procedures.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death and are working to uncover the mystery behind the incident.
