Turkey condemned Israeli attacks in Gaza after local sources reported that at least 19 Palestinians, including three children, were killed in strikes on Sunday. In a statement published on August 3, 2026, Turkey’s Foreign Ministry said the latest attacks showed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government had no interest in making peace with Palestinians. Several other people were reported injured.

The ministry said Netanyahu’s sole objective was to displace Palestinians from their own land and prevent peace and stability in the region. It also said he continued to take steps that harmed the Middle East’s fragile regional balance and disrupted ongoing mediation efforts led by the United States.

Turkey called on the international community to adopt a stronger, consistent and effective position against what it described as Netanyahu’s expansionist and military policies, while urging active action to protect humanitarian values. Nikolai Mladenov, chief envoy of the Board of Peace, said Israeli attacks across Gaza over the past two days had caused civilian deaths and extensive damage to emergency medical supplies.
