Gono Odhikar Parishad candidate Meghna Alam received a total of nine votes in three polling centers of the Dhaka-8 constituency, according to unofficial results from the 13th National Parliamentary Election. She secured seven votes at Mirza Abbas Mohila College, none at Kamalapur Sher-e-Bangla Railway School and College, and two at Shantibagh High School. The unofficial results were announced on Thursday evening.
The 13th National Parliamentary Election and the 2026 referendum concluded across Bangladesh in a festive atmosphere. Voting began at 7:30 a.m. and continued uninterrupted until 4:30 p.m. in 299 constituencies. Apart from isolated incidents, including minor explosions in two districts, the election was largely peaceful. Four people reportedly died after falling ill during the polling process, and some political parties lodged complaints.
According to Election Commission Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed, voter turnout reached 47.91 percent in 36,031 centers by 2 p.m. out of a total of 42,651 centers nationwide.
