A mobile court in Boalmari, Faridpur, seized a large quantity of adulterated food products worth about Tk 1.5 million during a joint operation on Sunday, January 18. The raid targeted a factory and warehouse in Andharkotha village, where counterfeit baby food, pickles, and chips were being produced and marketed. The operation, led by Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Shibbir Ahmed, resulted in the confiscation and destruction of the seized goods and a fine of Tk 100,000 imposed on the responsible business.

According to court sources, two brothers, Baharul Biswas and Ruhul Biswas, had been running the illegal production under the guise of a store and factory for a long time. Four truckloads of fake and harmful food items were seized, including imitation juice, pickles, chocolates, chips, biscuits, fried snacks, and sweets made from rotten coconuts. All confiscated products were destroyed using a roller.

Assistant Commissioner Shibbir Ahmed stated that the operation was based on complaints about the long-term production and sale of adulterated food. He added that such drives would continue in the public interest.
