Greenland’s right-wing opposition parties have won the general elections, a race that gained international attention due to Donald Trump’s past interest in acquiring the territory. With 90% of votes counted, election officials confirmed that the Democrats, who support gradual autonomy, secured 30% of the vote. The Naleraq party, which advocates for complete independence from Denmark and closer ties with the U.S., came in second with 25%. Meanwhile, the ruling Inuit Ataqatigiit, which supports full independence, finished third with 21% of the vote.
