Political leader Hasnat Abdullah declared that he does not want to see the Awami League in politics anymore. He urged all parties to reach a consensus and set an example for future generations. "We have fought a long battle. We have endured fascist rule, oppression, disappearances, and killings. Now, we have united in a Bangladesh free from fascism," he said. Abdullah thanked anti-fascist political forces and expressed hope that ongoing political reforms would soon be completed.
