The unofficial results of the 13th National Parliamentary Election for the Panchagarh-1 constituency have been announced. According to the district returning officer’s office, BNP candidate Barrister Naushad Zamir secured victory with 176,169 votes. His closest rival, Sarjis Alam of the National Citizens Party (NCP), who was also the chief organizer for the party’s northern region and a candidate nominated by the 11-party alliance, received 168,049 votes. The vote difference between the two candidates stood at 8,120.
Voting took place across 156 centers in the constituency. The unofficial results were declared around 1 a.m. after the completion of vote counting at the district returning officer’s office. The announcement confirmed BNP’s success in this northern seat as part of the ongoing 13th national election process.
The result adds to a series of BNP wins reported in other constituencies, reflecting the party’s strong performance in several regions according to the same election coverage.
