Ten people were injured in a clash between two groups in the Kadamtali area of Kasba upazila, Brahmanbaria, on Saturday morning. The confrontation began around 9:45 a.m. between residents of Shahpur and Araibari villages over a dispute involving a Hajj pilgrim’s luggage left behind in Saudi Arabia.

According to police and local sources, an elderly woman from Shahpur village went on Hajj this year through the Kasba Hajj Kafela. She accidentally left one of her suitcases in Saudi Arabia. When her family pressed the Hajj agency to retrieve it, the agency said the responsibility lay with the pilgrim. The disagreement escalated when the woman’s relatives vandalized the agency’s office on Thursday, leading to renewed violence on Saturday.

Kasba Police Station Officer-in-Charge Nazneen Sultana said the clash stemmed from tensions over the luggage issue and that police were working to bring the situation under control.
