BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has hailed the interim government’s visit to China as a significant diplomatic success. He criticized the previous Awami League government for fostering a one-sided relationship with a faction in China. However, with the change in government, China is now engaging with all political parties. Fakhrul highlighted China's economic strength as the world’s second-largest economy and a major investor in Bangladesh. He noted that the interim government, formed through student and public movements, has introduced reform initiatives and established a reform commission. He confirmed that the commission’s proposals have been reviewed and discussed, with further discussions planned with political parties. Regarding elections, he reaffirmed the Chief Adviser’s commitment to holding elections by December.
