Dr. Tasnim Zara, Senior Joint Member Secretary of the National Citizens’ Party (NCP), stated that Gopalganj belongs to all of Bangladesh and no individual or family can claim ownership of the country. In a Facebook post on Wednesday, she said that in 1947, 1971, and now in 2024, people have always fought against inequality—and they will continue to do so. She affirmed that the NCP’s ‘July March’ will include every district, including Gopalganj, as part of its mission to build a new Bangladesh. Previously, NCP’s rally stage in Gopalganj was attacked by Chhatra League members, with vehicles of the UNO and police convoy also targeted and set on fire, prompting military deployment to restore order.
