BNP candidate M A Hannan achieved a historic victory in the Brahmanbaria-1 (Nasirnagar) constituency during Bangladesh’s 13th national parliamentary election, held under an Awami League-dominated region. According to the unofficial results announced by the upazila assistant returning officer, Hannan secured 67,783 votes, defeating his nearest rival Advocate Kamruzzaman Mamun, who received 35,121 votes. A total of eight candidates contested in this constituency, which had 273,827 registered voters, including 146,070 men, 129,262 women, and three third-gender voters across 80 polling centers.

Following the announcement of the results, BNP leaders and activists celebrated the victory with enthusiasm, marking it as a significant success for the party in a traditionally Awami League stronghold. The winning candidate, M A Hannan, expressed gratitude to the voters and pledged to work for development and the establishment of a peaceful environment in the area.

The result is being viewed as a major achievement for the BNP, reflecting a shift in voter sentiment in Brahmanbaria-1.
