Suleiman Obeid, a celebrated former Palestinian footballer known as the ‘Pelé of Palestine,’ was shot dead by Israeli forces in Gaza while awaiting humanitarian aid. The 41-year-old athlete, a father of five, had a distinguished career playing for Gaza’s Shabab Al-Shati and West Bank’s Al-Amari clubs. His killing is part of ongoing Israeli attacks in Gaza, where more than 660 Palestinian athletes and youth members have died amid escalating violence that has claimed over 61,000 lives.
