BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed has won the Cox’s Bazar-1 (Chakaria-Pekua) constituency by a wide margin, according to preliminary results released on February 12, 2026. Contesting with the paddy sheaf symbol, he secured 220,566 votes across all 177 polling centers. His nearest rival, Abdullah Al Farukh of the 11-party alliance, received 124,726 votes, leaving a difference of 95,840 votes between them.

The total number of registered voters in the Cox’s Bazar-1 constituency stands at 540,468, including 290,275 men and 250,192 women. The report indicates that Salahuddin’s victory was decisive across all centers, reflecting strong support for the BNP candidate in this coastal constituency.
